    We, I thought. He'd actually referred to us as we. Like we were a couple!

    Before I could say anything, Todd reached out and took my hand. "Hey, let's get out of here for a second."

    I almost keeled over. Did this mean what I thought it did? Todd and I were holding hands--right in front of everyone! As much as I wanted to take off with him, though, I couldn't desert my friends. "I'd love to--but I probably shouldn't leave my own party," I told him.

    "Don't worry--we're not leaving. We're just moving a little bit," Todd said. He led me through the crowd over to the jungle gym. "Kind of quiet over here, isn't it?"

    I leaned back against a rung. "It's nice."

    "Yeah." Todd sighed. "It's nice to be... you know, just the two of us."

    "Yeah." The word came out as a squeak. "It is." I looked up at Todd. He was looking at me. And before I knew what was happening, he leaned over and kissed me!

    I felt like I was about to melt. Could my night work out any more perfectly?
